Gas town

21 April 2014:

Late morning and early afternoon today were spent in Gas Town, which also has a good sized population of Hipsters, so the use of the Hipstamatic seemed appropriate. We had lunch in the Acme Cafe, and then found an interesting sign down the street.

Kitsilano

20 April 2014:
We spent all of our day today in Kitsilano. First shot was taken in the morning at the entrance to False Creek, and I like the branches against the sky. As for the rest, the trees are blooming!

English Bay and waiting for No. 7 bus

19 April 2014:

English Bay in the morning: I tried stacking two neutral density filters to get a long exposure time (10 seconds) so that the clouds and ocean were smoothed out by their own motion. This image is so-so, and I did not get to experiment further because I left some rather important tripod parts back home. (Canon 5D, hand held to a stable support, 10 second exposure)

Here, Lily and Lisa wait downtown in the rain for the number 7 bus to get us back home after a good afternoon spent in the Vancouver Art Museum. This image came out amazingly well given the rather dark light conditions. (iPhone)

Lisa does selfies

18 April 2014:
Lisa, Lily and I went by bus and sea bus from Vancouver over to Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver for some short hikes in Lynn Canyon park. It was a very nice day, cool and dry and sunny. Lisa decided it was time to try some selfies with the big Canon 5D, and the results are fun! Selfies are not normally done with a digital SLR, this being rather awkward, but we were thinking outside the box...

Evening Walk

25 March 2014:

Taken at the end of an evening walk. I like the way the lens distorts the circular lights across the top into long ovals.
