Portrait of Joshua Tree

4 April 2015:

On our way out of the park on March 22, we stopped at a picnic area near Jumbo Rocks. The sky was filled high clouds that were partially obscuring the sun. This is my attempt at a portrait of Joshua Tree National Park.

Joshua Tree star trails on film

2 April 2015:

These two star trail images were taken with Dad's Hasselblad on our trip to Joshua Tree National Park last month. This camera has a different look when compared with star trails from the digital SLR.

Top image: 20 March 2015, Keystone Rock at the Joshua Tree Ryan campground, 30 minutes at f/4, Fujucolor 400 print film (673-02 or 432100001)

Bottom image: 20 March 2015, the North Star (Polaris) above my favorite Joshua tree near Ryan campground,  20 minutes at f/4.5, Fujicolor 400 print film ( 672-08 or 432200008).

Secret Stairs Walk #19, Silver Lake Circles

29 March 2015:

This morning we walked in Silver Lake again, this time on some very quiet and elegant streets above Silver Lake Boulevard.

We finished our walk with another trip to Silver Lake Ramen for a bowl of their vegetarian ramen. Good food!

The Adobe

21 March 2015:

This old adobe ruins sits about 0.5 km above Ryan campground. The class gathered there, and the instructor lit it with the help of a few students. I only hit the shutter button.

'Twas a starry night

20 March 2015, about 11:30 pm:

Joshua Tree National Park - A different take on the same tree I photographed in March 2011 using the Hasselblad. This image was made possible by the new lens on a digital SLR.
