Morning Walk near Tulare

25 May 2014:

Before Lily and I left Tulare and headed home, I went for a 1.5 hour walk in the country with Kevin N, two of his friends, and Anne the dog. We hiked along farm roads that paralleled the main rail line through this part of the central valley. In the top photo, Anne is romping through the alfalfa, and in the bottom photo Kevin and Mike walk along the road next to a vineyard.

23 May 2014:
Yesterday Bob M and I went for a hike through the back part of his property near Mariposa. The wildflowers are in bloom, and the bees were very busy.

Mariposa Star Trails

22 May 2014:

A 45 minute star trail sequence taken from the balcony of Bob Mullen's home, looking south. Note the trees in the foreground, the airplane trails that run nearly vertically off on the right, and what was probably a shooting star running almost perpendicular to the star motion near the center. This series of 45 one-minute exposures was started at about 11:30 pm PDT. I love the different colors of the stars.

Bridalveil Falls

21 May 2014:

We visited Yosemite Valley floor today. Unseasonably cool, but the Spring rains have supplied a lot of water for the falls and have made the photographers happy.

My Bike Mechanic

I went to the Torrance Crit bike race today to take more images for my photo class. I went at the end of the day when Alex, the mechanic to takes care of my two bikes, was racing. This was the fastest group of the day, Pro/Category 1/2/3. They were really fast today, and the racing was very interesting to watch. Alex is in the orange / black jersey on the Colnago.
