Sticker in Baggage Claim
29 June 2012:
I found another sticker, this time on a panic (?) button at the baggage carousel in SeaTac. The sticker nicely mimics the button.

Plums!
20 June 2012, updated 22 June 2012
The beginning of the process that leads to plum jam... and we got a better picture tonight. Lily is now in focus, better depth of field, and more evenly lit by the bounce flash. I keep learning...

At Malaga Cove
19 June 2012:
Another beach abstract, this one from Malaga Cove last Sunday morning. This is water running back out to sea over the sand. I want to look at this one for awhile to see if it works or not. Any comments?

'53 Chevy Pickup
18 June 2012:
Found this on tonight's walk, and the subject is only a few years younger than me. The bleach bypass filter gives it a neat look. You can see the photographer at the very front of the hood, between the reflected palm tree and the reversed Jama sign.

Marine Still Life
17 June 2012:
As found on the beach at Malaga Cove this morning. The image does not work in black and white, and it is not abstract, so it will not go in the beach abstract series. Still, I found this combination of shells, a piece of seaweed, and the leg of a crustacean rather intriguing.

Cat
15 June 2012:
Another evening walk, this time after sunset. This cat in a second story window kept a close eye on us as we went past, but didn't bark. Harper Avenue, Redondo Beach.

Evening walk to the Beach
14 June 2012:
Another evening walk, this time down to the beach. For some reason, Hermosa still has the snow fences up around the pier area. These are normally only up in the winter to control blowing sand. They make a nice part of this composition. The detail extractor in Color Effects Pro 4 and a virtual red filter in photoshop made this one work well.
Pier plaza was busy tonight - lots of tourists coming into town. It is rumored that Bill Clinton is in the area for his nephew's graduation in Redondo Beach.

Hibiscus
13 June 2012:
OK, two posts tonight. I didn't have much over this past weekend. Here is a very colorful hibiscus that we came across towards the end of the walk tonight.

Cormorant
3 June 2012:
This cormorant at first nicely posed, and then fled!
Photo was taken this evening on a search for more beach abstracts, this time at a small marine preserve just east of Point Vicente. This image will be re-processed to fix a few remaining flaws.
The abstract search was not very fruitful, but it was a nice hike down the bluff and along a very rocky beach. That is Catalina Island in the distant background.
